Elementary Education
To prevent child labour emphasis is being given on compulsory education for all children in working villages. The aim of the activity is to address the issue of out-of-school children and to improve quality of education in the villages by strengthening the Parent Teacher Association and establishing linkages with the education machinery of the district and other stakeholders. It also aims to remove the gender bias and to improve the status of the girl child in the society so as to provide her with equal opportunities for her survival and development to her full potential.
The organisation specially focuses the children in 6-14 years age group. Regularising schools, parents' visits and meetings with block level functionaries have brought tremendous change in the quality and better functioning of education, particularly in the life of the girl child in the villages.
IDYWC provides the children with opportunities and facilities to develop in a healthy manner in conditions of freedom and dignity. It works for the protection of their childhood and youth against exploitation and against moral and material abandonment. Its mandate is to provide adequate services to children, both before and after birth and through the period of growth, to ensure their full physical, mental and social development. |
